Professor
Danai Papadatou is a Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Department of Nursing of the National and Kapodistrian University in Athens, Greece. Herclinical experience, research interests, and publications focus on issues related to pediatric palliative care, childhood bereavement, and community trauma. She is also the founder and president of “Merimna”, anon-profit association for the care of children and families facing illness and death. This association provides pediatric palliative home care services and operates two bereavement counseling centers for children, adolescents, families, and school communities. Over the past six years, she has been actively involved in the training and supervision of field workers who support unaccompanied refugee children in Greece. She has received several international awards for her teaching, research, and community service in pediatric palliative care, and child hoodbereavement support. She is an IWG member since 1990, and has served in the past as chair, vice-chair, and member of its board of directors.
